Sounds like time travel, doesn’t it? It certainly required some travel for Midlands based Advanced Retail to visit their new client Cawdor Castle near Inverness – nearly 1000 miles and three days in all.
Steeped in history and even quoted in Shakespeare, Cawdor Castle is the first specialist visitor attraction that Advanced Retail have worked for.
The 15th-century Cawdor Castle is certainly coming into the 21st-century with Advanced Retail. Their three on-site retail stores had been relying on an outdated system founded on accounting rather than built for the demands of modern retailing.
The Advanced Retail solution accommodates three different retail offerings in the shape of a general gift shop, a wool shop and a highland shop. Facilitating stock control, integrating chip and pin and unifying the data for each store.
The introduction of state-of-the-art ePOS is part of an overhaul of the operations at Cawdor Castle. Graham Griffith, Managing Director, said “We are a seasonal business so expecting our staff to be experts in antiquated systems as well as our products is asking a bit much. So the Advanced Retail solution is ideal – providing us with the data to run the shops efficiently whilst making them intuitive to transact for our staff.”
Graham met Paul Wilson, Business Analyst at Advanced Retail, at the Museums and Heritage Show in 2024. David recalls the encounter “Graham stopped at our stand and allowed me to demonstrate our system. He asked a lot of interesting and pertinent questions. So it looked like our solution might be suitable. And here we are, the proud suppliers to a key part of Scottish heritage.”
You can book to visit Cawdor castle between April and September click here to do so. And when you visit be sure to call in at least one of their fabulous stores. You will be sure of a welcome and efficient service.
If you have a challenging EPoS integration why not come to an EPoS supplier who will relish rather than resent the challenge. David Billingham, db@advanced-retail.co.uk, 07817 268 546.
